I'm Just Saying

I am not addicted to home-made trail mix. I can quit any time I want to. I just don't want to.

A couple of weeks ago, Shop-n-Save had a hugely marked down sale on some brand of bulk trail mix, one they didn't carry before and don't seem to any more. So when I went back about a week ago to get more, I looked around, and saw that most of the ingredients to trail mix were, themselves, on sale. So I tweaked the recipe a little bit: two pounds mixed nuts, 18 oz raisins, 7 oz chopped, dried mixed tropical fruit, and 4 oz M&Ms. Which I have had to fight to keep myself from living off of. Went through all 3 and some pounds of it in about a week, week and a half. So I went back tonight for more ingredients. Skipped the M&Ms, which I felt weren't adding anything, and were clashing with the tropical fruit. Doubled up the tropical fruit. Now I've got two two-pound nut containers, one in the cabinet and one here at the computer, full of home-made trail mix.

And if I didn't screw the lid back down tightly every handful or so, I think I might graze on it 18 hours a day.

Presumably this phase, like many of my weird food cravings over the years, will eventually pass.

(P.S. For those of you who were wondering, this is mathematically close to my ideal weather: highs in the mid to upper 80s, lows around 60, dewpoint in the mid 40s. It could stay like this 365 days a year, and I'd be as happy as a pig in Congress.)
