Oh, man, I wish I could do for a living what they do. I know of no really good reason to think that I'd be as good at it as they are, or to think that I could make a living doing it here in St. Louis. I just think that doing monumental art in vinyl inflatable sculpture form is such an incredibly cool thing to do. There is, in fact, one fairly famous piece of artwork in this medium, Lewis deSoto's "Paranirvana" (Reclining Buddha), and it was reading about that piece that got me started on wanting to do this kind of thing.
On the other hand, it's not what got me started on it this morning. I was skimming today's ad circulars prior to pitching them, only to see that Party City is selling an 8 foot inflatable tiki sculpture for only $49. I want one. Desperately. Preferably prior to the trip to Lothlorien at the end of the month. And I probably will have one, since the sale runs through the 16th and I get paid again on the 12th. I was hoping to show you a picture, but I can't find one - it was while I was searching for one that I found Creatable Inflatables instead.
Man, I really wish I were an inflatables artist! Oh, wait, I already said that.
