Temporary Technical Difficulties

All of the magic blue smoke seems to have leaked out of my computer this morning. It's acting like a power supply problem, but swapping the power supply hasn't helped. Eris help me, I may end up having to swap the motherboard and/or processor. In any case, what with my transportation issues, it could be a couple of days before I get reliable Internet access of my own back. (I'm borrowing somebody else's laptop for a minute to post this.) Sorry!

Update, Wednesday afternoon: What with one thing and another, alienne and I managed to mostly resurrect a left-over antique laptop of hers, get kUbuntu up and running on it, get it connected to my real monitor and keyboard and mouse, and through a mildly sloppy hack get it to work with my cable modem. I'm reduced to a really foul webmail interface to check my email, so it may not get read for a couple of days, which reduces me to using the "My LJ" portal to check for comments to my journal entries. But I should have something up this afternoon, and journal updates should occur subject only to the usual interruptions in my sleep schedule.
