angry And they think that their base will have no choice but to accept that pointless political theater and still vote for them next November. I guess nobody is taking seriously Michael Bloomberg and Chuck Hagel's plan to split the anti-war vote. Yep. In 2008, the part of Ralph Nader will be played by Michael Bloomberg, with Chuck Hagel's help. And if so, once again, the good guys lose.
So since we're obviously going to be fighting in Iraq for at least another year and a half, I think this is a good time to show you what we're fighting for. That picture at right is the about-to-be corpse of a Kurdish teenager named Du'a Khalil Aswad. She was murdered, on or about April 7th, for the "crime" of befriending an Arab boy.Oh, what, you thought that we were fighting to bring her killers to justice? Silly person. We're her killers. You killed her. If you're a taxpayer in the US or the UK, her blood is on your hands. That's because the troops that your taxes are paying for are fighting to protect her killers. You see, among those who assisted her murderers were several members of the Kurdish police, the ones working for the semi-independent Kurdish government that your troops installed and that your troops defend.
They're very proud of having murdered this child. They used their camera phones to videotape every minute of her murder in pornographic detail, from when they forcibly stripped her naked in public to humiliate her before dressing her back up again and then throwing rocks at her head and vital organs while she cried out in pain and begged for mercy until her blood-spattered corpse stopped twitching. And to show the world how proud they were of having murdered this child, they uploaded the resulting video to YouTube. YouTube, having more humanity than either the Republicans or the Democrats, had the good grace to be disgusted by this, and erased the video from their site within a matter of hours. This didn't chastise the murderers in any way; they're still apparently circulating it on web sites all through the region. See what the Americans and the British helped us do? Isn't it great?!?
Before this war started, I said that the only way that it could actually be won would be with a force of at least half a million troops, probably more like a million. And the only way this country could raise an army of a million troops would be if the American people were that angry at and that outraged with the Baathists in Iraq. And anybody who knows anything about such things knows what that would have taken: it would have taken photographs and video and survivors' horror stories showing the American people that Iraqi Baathists were laughing and having a good time while murdering children, preferably while or after sexually humiliating them. (Although that last part is optional if the victims are young enough; consider the efficacy of the lie we were fed about Iraqi troops murdering babies in Kuwaiti hospital intensive care wards that won the public's endorsement of the Gulf War.)
Nobody could convince George Bush and the neocons of that, because they were believing would-be American-backed Shiite dictator (and possible Iranian spy) Ahmed Chalabi's lies telling them that the Iraq War would be over so soon that the American people's opinion didn't matter. No, now it's the other side, those raising armies to fight us in Iraq, that have the pictures of sexually humiliated and murdered teenagers to show their potential recruits. And we helped. And we're so proud of that, we're going to keep helping the murderers sexually humiliate and murder more children and teenagers for at least another year and a half.
Watch this week's votes on Iraq War funding very closely. And don't ever forget what your tax dollars are paying for if it passes, or who voted for that use of your tax dollars.
